Hello, I’m Eric Spurgeon, a mechanical engineer and the owner of Tarhun 3D.
What do I do?
I provide solutions for companies and individuals that need help with engineering and product development. This is accomplished through an engineering approach that is centered around effective communication.
Many organizations today are trapped in a vicious cycle of speed over quality. In the fast-paced world of design, there is great pressure to get things done quickly. The result is often a product that is technically sound but sacrifices clear vision, communication, and ultimately, product quality. This means products become difficult to transition from engineering to manufacturing, are challenging to support in the field, and suffer from lackluster reception in the market.
Is there a solution?
YES! Fortunately there is a better way. My mission is to bring an improved approach to the engineering process that eliminates those sacrifices while maintaining the speed required in today’s market.
I operate under three key principles:
Specifically design for manufacturing with margins first. This approach begins with the end in mind. The focus is on laying out the project from beginning to end, optimizing in house capabilities and relationships, and creating a custom solution that fits the individual or company. This tailored approach produces a product that performs well while leveraging the available resources. Ultimately, these products tend to compete more strongly in the market.
Product development is rarely a sole endeavor that is finished on the first try. As an outside contractor it can be easy to walk away as a project becomes challenging. Not so with Tarhun 3D! The partnership comes before the project. This means you get the sustained support required to bring your dreams to life.
At the end of the day it’s all about results. Most engineering design services spend too much time and too much money. Projects tend to grow to consume whatever resources are allocated to them. Hiring an “outsider” can turn into a time-consuming nightmare.
My approach is different. Using nearly a decade of project management experience, I partner with my customers to develop a schedule and scope of work that is functional for all sides. No one is left in the dark wondering about time, responsibilities, or cost. This approach frees my customers up to get back to what they really want to be working on.
These pillars combine to form a strong foundation.
My solutions create value and add to my clients bottom line. This powerhouse means whether a company is looking to break into new spaces or an individual is working to take an idea from vague concepts to finished product I can provide the right solution.
